Cheryl Webster obtained grade "1" in Art at "O" Levels at Bishop Anstey High School, Port of Spain, and completed one year of "A" 'Level Art.
After she got married, raised children and worked at the same time, she found only occasionally the time to dabble in Art.
At age 60, she decided to restart her Art by beginning from scratch. She took drawing lessons from the Art Academy (Mr Gerard Gittens) and then began to work with artist Marsha Bhagwansingh, doing Art II. She is planning to continue her classes through to oils.
Cheryl was very good in the dry media at school with portraits and Life drawing as her main focus. A few years ago she started experimenting with acrylics and did some good Landscape painting with the help of a fellow artist. Some of those were exhibited at 101 Art Gallery.
Cheryl now paints every day and would paint all day long if "life" did not keep intruding, she smiles. She says she has a lot of catching up to do. She attends all exhibitions she can, not just for her enjoyment, but also with a view to learning from them. In the meantime she also loads down tutorials from the Internet.
