Artist Statement
The idea of spirits in nature was hardly alien to me, and although I didn’t look for them (as a child I didn’t think they’d want to be bothered), I always felt they were there.
That has always been the point of my work, whether or not faeries and folklore characters can be seen, they are as much a part of nature as the whispering of trees and the rushing of water.
At the very least, they exist in our imagination, and that adds a little extra magic to the world we see around us.
