Alexander King

Alexander Sylvester King received his tertiary level of education at Howard University in Washington DC where he obtained the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education and the Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Arts.

He has practised as a teacher at Primary and Secondary levels in Trinidad and USA, and was Lecturer in Art Education at the Mausica, Valsayn and Corinth Teachers' Colleges. He also lectured at the University of the West Indies in 'Graphic Arts Communication'.

King has participated extensively in Group Shows in Trinidad and Internationally. He has also had several exhibitions as an individual. His most recent exhibition, "Genesis of Pan", enjoyed a successful run at the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and subsequently at the Commonwealth Institute in London.
Described by his colleagues as 'an intellectual', 'a philosopher', and as 'free spirited', it is his, joie de vivre, his love of teaching and the sharing of his knowledge that characterize the artist.
