Gabriela Joseph

Biography
I studied at the University of The West Indies and received my Bachelors in Visual Arts, of which I then continued into a Masters in Industrial Design in Florence, Italy. I enjoy design, as creating an original object is quite pleasing and exciting. With my designs, I continue the technique of modernism and abstract.
In my time as an artist, I have taken part in several projects, this includes a Jeans Art exhibit held by the Radical Designs Fashion industry. I have sold some of my work and have held exhibitions at the National Museum and More Vino. I hope to, one day, own my own business where I can continue to uphold my stance on pleasing society and making them aware of the richness and beauty of one's expression through Art.

Artist Statement
Art has always been a passion of mine. To have the audience interact with my work, enjoy it and appreciate it makes me feel accomplished. My weakness for painting is colour. I love to experiment with colour and I am more into abstract than any other technique; I much prefer to put a new twist on reality. Artist like Jackson Pollock have influenced and sparked my creativity. Drip art, as he calls his work, has influenced some of my work. To be an artist is a great pleasure and I wouldn't give it up for the world!
