Kwynn Johnson was born in Trinidad in 1974.
This emerging artist holds a first-class honours degree in Visual Arts, a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies, and is currently pursuing a practice-based research for a PhD in Cultural Studies. She writes the weekly Art review column for the Regional Catholic Newspaper, and is currently a full-time researcher with the Carnival Institute of Trinidad and Tobago.
This artists has had six solo art exhibitions in Trinidad, and has participated in numerous group shows locally, showing her work in Guyana and Texas as well. She also designs archival displays, and Theatrical Set Designs and is the recipient of the 2007 National Drama Assoc. of T & T Cacique Award for Most Outstanding Set Design.
Kwynn has produced, directed, filmed and edited 6 Independent short films, her film on Bee-keeping was screened at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival in 2007. In 2010 she screened her latest film "CART" at the 77-year old Globe Cinema, and last remaining Cinema in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
