Samuel Ishak
Ishak was born in 1928 in Guyana.
He studied Art at Government Teachers College in Trinidad.
He was a Cultural Officer in the Ministry of Education and Culture based in San Fernando. He has exhibited widely in mixed exhibitions both nationally and internationally in England, Canada, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
His works are represented in several collections. He works in oil and encaustic- a media used by the Egyptians. He delights in painting groups of people engaged in various activities. Within recent times Ishak has been experimenting with semi-abstract and abstract approaches using the acrylic medium-a further development of his strength as a painter. A few of his important works have been acquired by the National Museum.
