Madia FaragMadiha Farag

Madiha Farag was born in Egypt on June 19, 1957.
-Participated in art exhibitions at study level.
-Obtained grade of "Excellent" in the exam that qualify her for the study of art in the Cairo University, but instead chose to study archaeology.
1979 BA Egyptology, Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University
1982:  Came to Trinidad 
1990s: Painted on fabrics and on ceramics
1997 to 2000: Worked at the National Museum of Trinidad &Tobago.During that period gained knowledge and ideas from the local artists.
February 1999, learnt charcoal and graphite techniques in drawing from French artistPhillipp Escude.
-From the year 2001 to date is a research student at University of the WestIndies, St Augustine

2003
-       Exhibited with Women in Art at 1,2,3 Normandy Hotel Art Gallery.
-       Participated in the celebration of Makemba Kunle
-       Joined Three Artist Exhibition at the Southern Art Gallery

2004
-       Exhibited with Women in Arts at the national Museum
-       Calypso Artists Show, at the Southern Art Gallery
-       Le Femme Confusion, Six Female Artists exhibition, at the Southern

Art Gallery

2005
Solo exhibition at the Crown Plaza Hotel, hosted by the History Department of the University of the West Indies.

2006-04-05
Group Exhibition "Inside Outside"  at Voix Art Galley, participated as oneof the seven local artists.

1 November 2006, participated in group exhibition with other artists including in Paula Cooper at Art Gallery int San Fernando. 

On 19 November 2006 - a solo exhibition of one day show at Crews Inn, Chaguaramas that was held by Hispanic Women Club for charity purpose.

Madiha always selects topics for her paintings that touch her feelings and she selects colours that soothe the moment.

Mediums: Acrylics, water colour, pastel and charcoal.
