At the tender age of four with pencil and paper being her constant companions, Annalise’s life long passion for art was already quite obvious to her family. It was this passion that drove her at the tertiary level, to enroll in the Miami Dade Community College where she would get and expanded feel for art, whilst, expressing her creativity via various media such as woodwork, welding, jewelry, photography, clay sculptures, figure drawing and colour design. The ability to experiment with various media and exposure to the very diverse art and societal culture of Miami fostered her creativity and allowed her artistic talents to blossom. Not content with mediocrity and having a constant desire to further explore her craft, she took the opportunity while in Miami to enroll at the International Fine Arts College. It was this decision that allowed her to turn her passion into a successful career in the graphics and advertising industry. On her return to Trinidad, she continued her career as a freelance Graphic Artist in the local advertising industry. Contented with her career and having found true love, she decided to retire and dedicate her life to being a wife and doting mother. Still, her creativity beckoned her to seek out new media to express her talent. It was at this time that she stumbled upon cold porcelain, an air drying clay that would offer no limit to her imagination. Recently, she has discovered painting, which in additional to being another way of expressing her creativity, she finds vey therapeutic. A free spirit and the ability to draw inspiration from everyday life, she entered her first painting into the Trinidad and Tobago Art Society competition “Love, Peace and Harmony”. Her painting titled “Inner Greens” was one of the pieces submitted by locals to be displayed on the outer walls of the Oval. Proud of this accomplishment, Annalise today, continues to paint consistently and finds happiness in the appreciation of her work, by all her friends and family.
