Born in Trinidad in 1930, Chase studied architecture (in which field he holds a degree) in England, in Paris and also at the Bauhaus in Germany. He has travelled and lived in Europe and the United States.
He has done experimental work in architecture and in painting and has created designs for exhibitions of various types-art, industry, etc. He has been the recipient of prizes for architectural and other designs. His paintings and drawings have been exhibited in Trinidad, Europe and the United States. He works in the non-objective idiom and is interested in the effects achieved by a variety of materials and media. At the moment he is working and living in the United States.
