En Plein Air Trip to

POINTE-A-PIERRE WILD FOWL TRUST
SUNDAY  24th MAY, 2009       10am-2pm

Report and photos by Peter Sheppard

This Plein Air field trip was held on a Sunday and the members all agree that Sunday's are better than Saturdays for events such as this. But we will still need to alternate the days depending on the venue.  After last year's successful trip to the Pointe-a-Pierre Wild Fowl Trust we decided to return to this venue. The is so much material to use to create wonderful paintings that some of us may even return during the next week to continue work from the Trust.

We took our leisurely drive from Port of Spain passing the undulating hills of "Central" before arrive at the Pointe-A-Pierre gates from around 10am.  As artists arrived the soon found their "encampment for the morning where we each working in peaceful bliss.

Artists is attendance were: Beverley Fitzwilliam Harries, Greta Joachim, Cynthia McLean, Rosalba Grimaldos Leera, Marsha Bhagwansingh, Maurice Halfhide, Caroline Lewis, Rosie Henderson and myself. As we were leaving we saw a couple others just arriving and they stayed later to paint.

Our next Plein Air outing will be on SATURDAY 13th JUNE out at AJOUPA POTTERY in Freeport (Central)  coinciding with an Open House at Ajoupa that day.

Thank you to all of you who made it and to those who wanted to come but could not make it.

See you all again soon

Peter
