As day broke on Saturday 9th August the sun rose high over the Maraval hills and this was great news for our 2nd attempt to paint up at Paramin. We set off from Hi-Lo Maraval in about 4 cars to the North Coast Road where we turned off on Fond Pois Doux Road. This road took us along the scenic ridge overlooking Paramin, Maraval and the North Coast. We then began our downhill trek on the Northern side of the hill in the direction of Shoado Island. We parked and scouted for our painting location. Some remained at the base which was very beautiful, while others ventured further downhill to a galvanized shed.
The painting began an we did get a couple of hours in before the heavens opened. We sheltered under the Galvanize and Flashband shed until we thought there was little hope of resuming. We did manage to start some work and will continue at another time.
This was my last organized Plein Air trip for now, other than the World Plein Air Paint out at The queens Park Savannah on Sep 7th. Maybe someone else might organize something while I am working on my project over the next few months. Consider finishing one of your best paintings done on our Plein Air trips to submit to the ASTT Annual November Show where we could have a Plein Air Wall.
